He thought it was David Fincher's Zodiac (2007) — the thriller about the Zodiac killer. He had seen it before, but the subtitle quality was poor. This one promised "tepat & mudah dimengerti" (accurate & easy to understand).
The "movie" showed twelve teenagers — each born under a different zodiac sign — trapped in an abandoned planetarium in Bandung. One by one, they were forced to confess their darkest secrets, or the "zodiac system" would eliminate them. The twist? The subtitles weren't just translating — they were changing the story.
The film opened differently. No grainy San Francisco streets. Instead, a black screen with white text: "Menurut ramalan zodiak, setiap tanda memiliki rahasia yang tak boleh diungkap. 2007 adalah tahun pengungkapan."
