No one speaks.

The camera holds on the church door as Sheldon slams it shut behind him. The sound echoes across the empty parking lot. Inside the car, George Sr. grips the steering wheel, his knuckles white. Mary sits in the passenger seat, not crying, but staring ahead with a hollow stillness. The car's engine idles, a low, troubled hum. George shifts into drive. The taillights bleed red across the wet asphalt as they pull away, leaving Sheldon standing alone.

"I am engaging in strategic isolation," Sheldon replies without looking up. "It's called 'alone time.' You wouldn't understand." young sheldon s05e22 4k

Inside, Sheldon's hand inches toward Missy's. She takes it. George reaches over and rests his heavy, calloused hand on both of theirs.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," George nods. "It is."

A long pause. Then, softly: "Shut up, Sheldon." No one speaks

Missy sits on the curb next to him. "There's nothing logical about any of this, Shel." She points to the church. "You think praying helps?"
