He closed the notebook and smiled. For a boy who hated nonsense, he had to admit—sometimes, a little satrip was exactly what reality needed.

Sheldon watched her leave, then turned back to his cereal. The milk had turned a murky gray. He sighed. “Challenge accepted.”

Tam shrugged. “Maybe he’s just hungry.” He closed the notebook and smiled

“Why is everything my fault?” George muttered.

“Meatloaf,” he announced, “is a culinary lie. It pretends to be a loaf, but it is not bread. It pretends to be meat, but it has crackers inside. It is the uncanny valley of entrees.” The milk had turned a murky gray

George stared at him. Then, slowly, he picked up his meatloaf and took a bite. “You know what? This is delicious. And your satrip? It ends now. Eat your dinner or no computer for a week.”
