At a ruined city’s center, WCKD captures them again. Dr. Paige reveals the truth: Teresa, the girl Thomas loved, betrayed them. She believes WCKD’s cure is worth any sacrifice. Thomas escapes, but Chuck—the youngest Glader—is shot trying to protect him. Dying in Thomas’s arms, Chuck whispers, “You’re not a monster.”

Thomas, shattered, confronts Dr. Paige. She reveals the ultimate truth: the Immunes’ blood doesn’t just cure the Flare—it contains a memory map of how to rebuild humanity’s immune system. But to extract it fully, they need Thomas’s brain. Teresa, having switched sides again, helps Thomas trigger an explosion that destroys WCKD’s main lab. Dr. Paige dies. The facility collapses.

Months later, on a beach, Thomas receives a message from a distant radio tower: the cure is real. The data Teresa saved is being distributed. Humanity has a chance.
