What follows is a two-minute, deeply graphic, stop-motion sequence involving a lot of squishing condiments, a bun splitting in anatomically impossible ways, and a jar of relish providing "emotional support." The 480p resolution actually enhances the absurdity, making it look like a corrupted video file from another dimension.
Suddenly, a shadow falls over the parking lot. The camera (grainy, interlaced) pans up. A colossal, rumbling truck with "ARCTIC COLD STORAGE" on its side backs into the loading dock. The temperature drops.
The camera pulls back, revealing the entire scene is being watched through a telescope by a surviving Human. A grizzled, fast-food worker named Kevin (voiced by Michael Cera). He holds a bottle of BBQ sauce and whispers:
"Details, Brenda! In Foodtopia, we don't have problems. We have... opportunities for flavor enhancement."
