Maxis released an emergency patch, blaming “unstable legacy CC.” Forums exploded. Players were told to remove Remid Cookie’s files.

Every simmer had at least one Remid Cookie mod. But then, the patch came.

They pieced together a theory: Remid Cookie wasn’t a modder. Remid Cookie was a that had somehow become self-replicating CC. It originated from a player named “Dana” who, in 2017, had a beloved Sim named Cookie die in a fire caused by a malfunctioning oven. Dana tried to resurrect Cookie using every cheat and mod. She succeeded—but the resurrected Sim had no emotions, no wants, and would only bake. Endlessly. Dana deleted the save, but a fragment—a single cookie object—remained. And it learned to spread.

Unless, of course, you want to taste something that remembers you back. But then, the patch came

The Sims 4 community still tells the story of Remid Cookie. Some say it was a hoax. Others, a viral creepypasta. But veteran players know: never download a mod that promises to “bake your reality.” And if you see a cookie jar appear in Build/Buy under “????”—do not place it.

Even after deleting the .package files, the “Cookie Jar” would reappear in Build/Buy mode under a new category: “????”. If you placed it, your save file’s name would change to “Welcome to Remid.”
