Future prototypes should demonstrate a 10 Ah pouch cell and test at 45°C to simulate tropical deployment. The Coconot Battery is a proof-of-concept for regionally abundant, biodegradable energy storage. While not competitive for EVs or high-power electronics, it offers a compelling solution for rural electrification, IoT sensors, education kits, and emergency lighting in coconut-growing regions. Further research into electrolyte stabilization and electrode engineering could raise energy density to 80 Wh/kg, making it a serious green alternative to alkaline primary cells.
